Which accreditations does my trade need?

What is commonly legally required or asked for, for your trade and customers.

Questions people ask

What does "required" mean on this page?

That the scheme or registration is commonly a legal requirement for that activity - Gas Safe for gas work, F-Gas for air conditioning, Part P routes for domestic electrical work. It is a prompt to check, not a ruling; the page carries its own disclaimer.

What does "asked for" mean?

That customers of that kind commonly ask for it - main contractors for SSIP schemes such as CHAS, SafeContractor or SMAS, the public sector for ISO 9001. Not having it is not illegal; not having it may cost you the tender.

Does this make my business compliant?

No. It lists what to look into. Whether you hold it, whether it is current and whether it covers the work is between you, the scheme and your customer. Pascoe Systems makes no compliance claim.
